Since the last update of Google Analytics, a unique visitor is identified by the term” User ” or “User” in English and a visit is identified by the term” Session ” in English and French.
To compare these two values, go to Google Analytics >Acquisition > Source/Medium.
The line” Appvizer/cpc ” shows you the two values:
Here is the rule followed by Google to differentiate a user from a session:
“Google Analytics calculates the number of sessions and users on your behalf. Sessions represent the number of individual sessions initiated by all users of your site. If a user is inactive on your site for at least 30 minutes, any subsequent activity will be considered a new session. If a user leaves your site and accesses it again less than 30 minutes later, Google Analytics only counts one session.
The initial session initiated by a user within a given period of time is considered to be an additional session and user. Any subsequent session by the same user during the defined period is considered an additional session, but not an additional user.”
